Solid Ground Studio,

Finely crafted custom metalwork

Solid Ground Studio,

Who are we?

Solid Ground Studio is the design-build company of Artist-Blacksmith Kate Demske.  Based in Cincinnati, Ohio we specialize in hand forged custom furniture, lighting, gates and sculpture.

Kate’s portfolio includes projects throughout the region and as far away as Alaska. In her work traditional blacksmithing techniques are combined with modern tools and methods to create heirloom quality products out of forged and fabricated steel.

Working hand in hand with clients to develop innovative and beautiful solutions to their design challenges is one of things we’re best at. Have an idea?  Give us a call and we’ll handle every step of the process from initial sketches though fabrication and installation.

It is our pleasure to share with you the magic of blacksmithing and to pass on the spark of joy of that is created with fire and hammer and anvil.

How does it work?

At Solid Ground Studio we love to find creative solutions to your design problems.  We start with a conversation to get an overview of your project and your budget.  Then we visit the site to take measurements and make notes about the installation requirements.  Next it’s off to the drawing board to sketch out a few design options.  We take the design that you like best and tweak it to fit the space and your style.  We will walk you through the materials, finishes and planned method of install. Once a design is finalized the fabrication fun begins!  Steel is cut, heated, pounded and welded.  Once the piece is mocked up we love to have you visit the studio to see your project in progress and make any final adjustments.  Before applying the finish we like to do a test fit and make sure everything looks just right.  Installation is the final step.

Sculpture

We have a passion for sculpture!  Looking for a signature piece for your garden or office?  We have artworks installed in private homes, elementary schools, public parks and businesses
